The City of Wausau has a two phase fall leaf collection.  

Phase 1 is intended to collect in areas that have larger amounts of leaves that have fallen early.  Not every street will be collected from.  Leaves should be left on the boulevards and not put into the street, as the vacuum truck will be collecting these.

Phase 2 is done with the plow and baler in the street.  Leaves should be raked into the gutter the weekend before your scheduled pick up.  Sometimes pick up progresses faster than the schedule, but if they come through early, they will come back again on your scheduled week.

We make every effort to get the leaves picked up, but sometimes Mother Nature conspires against us.  Residents are welcome to take their leaves to the yard waste site for disposal, which is open until November 24th.
